Here you will find a PowerPoint Presentation and other resource materials to assist you when providing career guidance to your students. Job prospects look good for the teaching profession with the anticipated 2.2 million teacher shortage over the next ten years.

Recruiters, counselors, advisors, teachers, and administrators are examining ways to prepare for anticipated teacher shortages. Concerns grow over expanding student enrollments and increasing teacher retirements. In an effort to find solutions this cohort group has focused on ways to encourage students with technology skills, at High School and beginning College levels, to consider teaching as a career option.

New State and Federal mandates along with current educational trends point to the increasing use of good Instructional Design Technology practices in classrooms. Teachers are using technology in powerful new ways to inspire and motivate students in their quest for current research, analysis of data, re-organization of data into logical structures, and when presenting their findings. Teachers will be able to combine their technology skills with any subject area of interest to create an exciting learning environment for their students. It can be an environment where technology is used in specific ways to reach high academic standards while at the same time developing a love for learning.
