The Learning Generation web site seeks to protect and respect your privacy. This Privacy Statement makes available and explains our privacy policy. Reading this statement will help you to understand our attitudes and practices regarding personal information as it applies to this site. This statement discloses the privacy practices for the entire Learning Generation web site.
Information Gathered by the Learning Generation Project and Its Use: Currently, the Learning Generation Project site collects limited amounts of information about its visitors or contributors. The site asks for your name and e-mail address when you send correspondence to us or through our correspondence page. This information is used only for the purpose of letting those to whom you send the e-mail know who you are.
Currently, only pre-service education teacher applicants will be asked to provide registration information. We reserve the right to add features to the Learning Generation site in the future that would ask users to voluntarily submit registration information to help us personalize the site. If a feature is added that makes use of registration, we will update this statement to inform users.
The Learning Generation database of educational resources does require contributors to supply certain information to be submitted as part of the resource indexing. This information is used to ensure that the ownership of the resource is known and to make it possible to search the database by author, contributor or location. Other optional information such as contributor's phone number or e-mail address is intended to make sure that users of the contributed resource can contact a knowledgeable person regarding the resource. The Learning Generation project does not at this time aggregate or compile information about contributors to the their resource library or database but reserves the right to do so for accountability reporting or research. Under these circumstances, individual data should not be revealed. However because the site and the resource library/database are publicly accessible, information about individual contributors is easily discernable.
The server that hosts the Learning Generation web site collects IP numbers in a server log that is used to determine how many and in what way people use our site, which helps us make our site better. This does not include the recording of processor identification numbers such as those in the Pentium III nor personal information about specific users. At this time the Learning Generation site does not require cookies. In the future the Learning Generation site may implement the use of cookies to help us personalize your visit. If cookies are ever used this policy will be changed to reflect this fact.
Disclosure of Your Personal Information: The Learning Generation site will not disclose any information about individual users, except as described in this Privacy Statement or to comply with laws or legal process. We do not release or sell individual information to anyone for any purpose including direct mailings, contests or advertising.
The information that is part of the indexing of resources in the resource library/database is publicly accessible. The Learning Generation project does not at this time aggregate this information or use it for purposes other than those of ownership and indexing of resources. However, the open nature of the web makes it possible for others to harvest and use this information without the permission or knowledge of Learning Generation.
