Sort Spreadsheet Data Assignment

Requirements: To sort data in an existing spreadsheet file



Basic Assignment Option:

Step 1: Use this Excel spreadsheet file for this assignment - Class Gradebook.
Step 2: Using Microsoft Internet Explorer, open the file, and save a copy to your computer, or other storage device (floppy, zip, etc.).
Step 3: Using Excel's sorting function, sort the Percent column in descending order.
Step 4: Name and save the "sorted" spreadsheet file as a new file, such as "descending".
Step 5: Submit the sorted spreadsheet file to the instructor via email attachment.

    Step 2: Include at least 20 rows of data with 5 variables (columns) per row in the new file.
    Step 3: Save the file as the "original" file for this assignment.
    Step 4: Using the "sort" function, sort a column of data in the original file in descending order.
    Step 5: Save the file as the "descending" file for this assignment.
    Step 6: Using the "sort" function, sort a column of data in the original file in ascending order.
    Step 7: Save the file as the "ascending" file for this assignment.
    Step 8: Submit original and sorted files to the instructor via email attachment by the due date.
