Objective: To add text to an images
Introduction: Adding text to images can give photographs more "meaning" and "life". Font size, color, and type can be customized. Through the use of a few simple steps using Adobe Photoshop, the text can then be added to the desired images. The images can then be used on classroom handouts, or on student web pages.
Skill Practice: Add text to an image
Step 1: Open
and click on File > Open. A window titled "Open" will appear on your screen.
Step 2: Browse your computer files to find the image you want to add text to. When the file is chosen, click on

Step 3: The image you selected should now appear in Photoshop. To activate the "Text" tool, click on the
.
Step 4: Once the "Text" tool is activated, your cursor will look like a small "text" box. Move the cursor to the point on the image where you want to add the text, and "left" click.
Step 5: The "Type Tool" window will now appear on screen. This window provides various text formatting options, such as font type, size, and color. There is also a space in the window where you type out the text you want to add to the image. When finished, click on
. The text should now appear on your image.
Step 6: Go to File > Save to save your additions to the image file. Follow the same steps to insert additional text on the image.
