Objective: To create a Web-Ready Photo Album using Adobe Photoshop



Introduction: Educators who document class activities and field trips through digital photography now have a simple way to display the highlights of these class/student experiences on the "web". Photoshop has an "automated" function for creating a web-ready photo album. Once a group of digital photo files are placed in a common folder, Photoshop users can follow a few simple "clicks-of-the-mouse" to create the photo album. Photoshop will produce all the necessary html documents to display the pictures on the web. Once these files are created, users just need to "upload" the files to a web space to display the photo album on the "web".



Skill Practice: Create Web-Ready Photo Album

Step 1: Place all the digital images you want to include in the web-ready photo album into one common folder.

Step 2: Open . Go to File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery. The "Web Photo Gallery" window will appear on screen.

Step 3: With the "Web Photo Gallery" window open, identify the "source" folder for the pictures that you want used in the photo album. *Note* - this should be the folder that the digital photographs were placed in. Use the option to browse/find this folder on your computer. Also, identify the place on your computer where you would like to save the photo album by using the option.

Step 4: In the "Site" section of the "Web Photo Gallery" window, type in a "Name, Photographer, and Date" for the web-ready photo album.

Step 5: In the "Thumbnails" section of the "Web Photo Gallery" window, choose the "size" of thumbnails you want used in the photo album, such as .

Step 6: If you want to have the images "resized" for the photo album, check the box. If "Yes", make sure to specify and in the window options.

Step 7: When you have finished setting specifications for your photo album, click on . Photoshop will create your web-ready photo album within seconds!
