Insert Movie Clip Tutorial
HyperStudio
Objective: To insert a movie clip on to a HyperStudio card
Introduction: HyperStudio allows users to embed/insert video clips on to "cards". This promotes the creation of more dynamic presentations. HyperStudio comes with a few "pre-made" movie clips in the "Media Library" folder.
Skill Practice: Insert a movie clip on to a HyperStudio card
Step 1: Open
. Select the "Create New Stack" icon -

Step 2: An untitled window will appear. This is the first "card" of your HyperStudio "stack".
Step 3: Go to Objects > Add a Button.... The "Button Appearance" window will appear on screen.
Step 4: Use the formatting options to Name and Format your new button (select type, font, icon, etc.). When finished, select
. Your new button will appear on screen, and the button border will be highlighted. Use the cursor to move the button to the desired location on screen, then click anywhere on screen.
Step 5: The "Actions" window will now appear on screen, which will allow you to attach an "action" to your new button. Under the "Things to Do" list, select

when finished.
Step 6: The "Video/Movie Source" window will appear on screen. To use an existing movie clip, select
. To create a new movie clip from a video tape, select

when finished.
Step 7: If you selected
, the "Please Select a Movie File" window will appear on screen, with the "Media Library" folder opened. Open the
folder, and choose an existing movie/video file you want to insert on to your HyperStudio "card" - such as "Campfire.mov". Select
when you have made your movie choice.
Step 8: The movie you selected will now appear on your "card". Click anywhere on screen and the "Movies" window will appear on screen providing further formatting options. When finished, click on
. The "Actions" window reappears on screen. If settings are correct, click on
