WS_FTP

Requirements: Rename a file (or file directory) using WS_FTP



Basic Assignment Option:

Step 1: Identify a group of at least 5 existing educational files (text or images).
Step 2: Make copies of each of the files to use with this assignment.
Step 3: Using WS_FTP, create a new file directory on your local system, and name it "Renamed Files".
Step 4: Using WS_FTP, rename the 5 copies of the educational files, and transfer them into the "Renamed Files" directory on your local system.
Step 5: Using WS_FTP, transfer the "Renamed Files" directory to a web server (remote site).
Step 6: Submit the URL of the "Renamed Files" directory to the instructor via email by the due date.

  • Advanced Assignment Option:

    Step 1: The instructor has created 10 digital images of a recent class event/activity. The images are posted on the class web site.
    Step 2: Make copies of each of the digital images and save them in a file folder on your local system.
    Step 3: Using WS_FTP, create a new file directory on your local system, and name it "Renamed Files".
    Step 4: Using WS_FTP, rename each of the copies of the digital images, and transfer them into the "Renamed Files" directory.
    Step 5: Use Adobe Photoshop's automated function "Web-Ready Photo Album" to create a web-ready photo album for the digital images.
    Step 6: Using WS_FTP, transfer all of the html files produced by Photoshop for the photo album to a web server for display on the internet.
    Step 7: Submit the URL (web address) of the web-ready photo album to the instructor via email by the due date.
