Digital Camera
A digital camera is a camera that takes pictures ready for your computer instead of on film. Digital pictures can be printed right from your printer. Although they can be processed like a regular photo, it's still expensive and somewhat poor quality. Four digital cameras are available to students and faculty of the school of education and are located in the Gayle Sayers Computer Lab on the 1st floor. The available cameras all save pictures onto a disk that can then be put into a pc or a Mac to be saved and edited. Adobe PhotoShop is loaded on several computers in the lab to edit pictures.
Instructor Use
Digital pictures can be added into any computer presentation for enrichment. These pictures are easy to take and there's no processing time, so pictures can be taken in abundance without being wasteful. You could take pictures of all the students in your class, and save them on your computer to polish up on names after those long weekends.
Student Tool
Digital cameras can be used by a student to record events. Have partners take a camera with them on field experiences to record the events of their experience. These pictures can be printed and put into their notebooks and become more influential to future employers than the accompanying text.
